Proposed Site

On the Bayfront Esplanade Between Miami's Two Major Museums

The statue is proposed near the main Frost Science entrance, on the esplanade across from Perez Art Museum Miami, within Maurice A. Ferre Park in the heart of downtown.

The placement is designed to invite school groups and families to pause, reflect, and take photos, turning a museum visit into a shared cultural memory.

Why This Matters

For Children

Creates an approachable public artwork where young visitors can connect with imagination, empathy, and curiosity.

For Miami

Adds a meaningful cultural landmark on a high-traffic civic corridor visited by residents and global tourists.

For French Culture

Honors a world literary icon and strengthens French-American cultural ties in one of the Americas' most international cities.

The Sculpture

Created by Jean-Marc de Pas

The concept portrays Saint-Exupery in flight suit, holding the hand of his beloved character. The work is intended to be installed without a pedestal, so children and families can engage with it directly.

A trilingual interpretive marker (English, Spanish, French) is also proposed nearby to explain Saint-Exupery's ties to the United States and Latin America.
